《孤雛淚》表演者招募面試 - 鳥羽葵

Next up in our auditioning series we have Aoi Toba, who joined YAF for the first time last year! You may have spotted her in A Chorus Line or in the dance performances of Ocean Art Walk 2014 in Stanley.

下一位我們請來鳥羽葵。鳥羽葵自2013起參與YAF的活動，包括音樂劇《舞步青雲》及「海洋藝術展2014在赤柱」的舞蹈表演。

Aoi, what’s it like auditioning for a YAF show?
A YAF performance is a great opportunity for you to showcase your brilliant talent while being supported by professional staff, and the audition is the chance for everyone to get there. There are hundreds of performers who try out every year to get one of 30-40 spots! My first try was 2 years ago for Godspell, and I didn’t even get through to the second audition. I was shocked! All the participants were really talented, and I was just a cheesy little kid! I realised how much more I had to achieve. Then I said to myself, "I don't know how long it will take, but I'm definitely going to get on that stage." So the audition is not just whether you get in the cast or not. It has the great value of being able to experience a professional audition. Going there itself is already veryy important. 

參與YAF的遴選面試是怎樣的？
參與YAF的演出能與專業的工作人員合作，充分展現你的才華。而所有渴望表演的人都能參與遴選面試，爭一席位。每年都有數以百計的表演者去競爭30-40個角色！ 我首次參與的面試是音樂劇《福音》，而我竟然不能晉身第二次試鏡。我實在感到很錯愕！所有參加者都很有才華，而我不過是一個普通得很的小孩！在那一刻，我意識到必須付出更多努力才能得到成果。我向自己承諾—「不管花多少時間，我最終都會踏上這個舞台。」 參與面試不僅在於能否爭奪一角，參與專業的演藝面試本身已有很高的學習價值。憑著勇氣踏進面試室，已是非常重要的一環。

What do you do to prepare for an audition?
You have to prepare a 1 minute musical song to sing without accompaniment. It should be a song which will best showcase your voice. All you have to do is keep on singing that song! Memorise your lyrics, of course. You also have to be able to perform it in front of others, not only yourself in the mirror! For the dance audition, the choreographer will teach you an awesome routine, so you'd better have the ability to memorise movements on spot. Well, you can't really prepare for it except for stretching, perhaps?

你在面試前要準備甚麼？
你必須準備一段1分鐘的音樂劇無伴奏獨唱歌曲，而這支歌曲應當顯示你的最佳聲線。你所要準備的就是不斷重覆演唱這首歌！緊記歌詞是必然的，而你不但要在面向鏡中的自己，亦必須在所有人面前演繹它！ 而跳舞遴選方面，編舞師會即席教授一些優美的動作，你必須立刻將動作記住。我想，除了熱身環節，大概都沒有預備工作可做吧？

Top tips?
SMILE & ENERGY! Stand out from the crowd! The YAF audition is not about how many lessons you are taking or how long you've been training for. It's all about your potential and your passion. Everything else you need will be taught in rehearsals. 有何面試貼士？ 笑容及活力！這才能在人群中脫穎而出！YAF的面試並不在乎你曾上甚麼課程，又或曾參與哪些表演。他們只著眼於你的潛力和熱誠。綵排時將會教授你所需要的技巧。

What is your favourite thing about being in a show?
I believe that “the stage” has a magical power. I don't know why and how, but it does! Even if you are nervous, tired, or not feeling well, as soon as the curtain goes up, you forget everything! And it’s just amazing how I can share the love of “the stage” with fellow cast members, the wonderful production team and the audience.

你為什麼喜歡參與表演？
我相信「舞台」有一種魔力。我不知道怎麼形容，但它確實存在！不論你感到緊張、疲倦又或不適，當序幕升起一刻，你便會忘記一切！這是多麼的美妙，讓我與優秀的表演者、製作團隊和觀眾分享我對「舞台」的熱愛。 

What are YAF rehearsals like?
It is serious and hard work - it is not only for fun. But at the same time, it is full of excitement! Everyone is really professional, and there's so much to be inspired by. For A Chorus Line, I was the youngest within the main cast and I learned so much from the older cast - they all helped me so much. I learned about teamwork, attitude and focus. These are very important things that I can use for the rest of my life, whether or not show biz becomes my career.

能簡述一下YAF的綵排情況嗎？
綵排是認真的、勤奮的，而並不只是嬉戲一番。總括而言，排練過程都是興奮的！每位演員都非常專業，亦讓我得到很多啟發。 在《舞步青雲》一劇中 ，我是最年輕的主要演員，而年長的演員會協助我演得更好，我從他們身上學到了很多。我亦學習到團隊合作、態度及專注的重要。不論我將來會否晉身演藝事業，這都使我畢生受用。

How did you learn about YAF?
It was a piece of advice from a musical course teacher. She told me "If you want to achieve more, YAF is where you should aim for." At that time, I was a newcomer to Hong Kong, and didn't know much about the musical scene here. I really appreciate that teacher’s advice as I’ve really been able to expand my life as a youth performer with YAF. Without her suggestion, I wouldn't even be interviewed for this blog!

你從甚麼渠道認識YAF？
我是從音樂劇課程的老師口中而得知YAF的。她告訴我：「若你想在演藝中有更大成就， YAF才是你的目標所在。」當時的我是新來港人士，對於本地音樂劇製作的資訊並不熟悉。 藉著YAF的演出，我成為了青年演員，並擴大了我的視野。我很感激讓我認識YAF的老師。沒有她的建議，我也不能在這個網誌與大家見面了！
